This was the first election in which pollsters used modern sampling techniques to predict the result. Some came quite close. Others, notably Literary Digest, flubbed.

I really enjoyed this episode. I am a big fan of U.S. presidential history. Franklin Roosevelt is certainly one of the most accomplished and influential presidents in U.S. History. He is definitely a top candidate for the most influential U.S. president in the twentieth century. It will be interesting to see who the most influential U.S. president of the twenty-first century will be. I also enjoyed your explanation of how the polling process works. It makes a lot more sense after your explanation. I look forward to upcoming episodes on Frankin Roosevelt, WW2, and the dust bowl.
