Before Theodore Roosevelt left office, he’d settled on William Howard Taft as his successor. The two men had been political allies and close friends. With Roosevelt’s support, Taft was elected President in 1908, but the two men would have a falling out soon afterward.

  1. I had to laugh at your expectation of finishing the podcast at 300 episodes. Even 500 seems very unlikely at this point. The good news is you’re still on track to stay under 1000. So no need to add on another 0 to the front of all the other episodes.
