The History of the Twentieth Century podcast is free to listen to or download, and here’s how you can do that:
If you are new to podcasts, read this article for an explanation of what a podcast is and how to listen to one.
For the podcast savvy, the feed is here.
For the rest of us, here are the various ways you can listen to the podcast:
On your PC, you can download individual episodes or listen via streaming on the main page of this site. (Click “Home” at the top of this page.) There is a separate entry for each episode, with the most recent episode on the top, with older episodes below, in reverse chronological order,
Or you can download individual episodes or listen via streaming at Liberated Syndication, my hosting company, here,
Or you can listen via streaming at the Apple iTunes site, here,
Or you can subscribe to the podcast using iTunes. First, you have to download and install iTunes if you don’t already have it on your computer. (It’s a free download, available here.) When iTunes is installed on your computer, go here and click on “View in iTunes,” which will open The History of the Twentieth Century in your iTunes program. There you can listen or download. You can also subscribe, by clicking “Subscribe,” which means iTunes will automatically download new episodes for you as they become available. iTunes also tracks which episodes you have listened to and which you have not, which I find very helpful.
You can listen or subscribe through Google Play here.
You can listen or subscribe through Miro here.
You can listen or subscribe through Stitcher here.
You can listen or subscribe through Tunein here.
The podcast is also available on Spotify, but I’ll assume if you have a Spotify account, you already know how to find it.
On your Apple device (iPhone, iPod, iPad): if you are reading this page from your device, just click here. Otherwise, you can open the Podcasts app (it’s free with your device; download and install it from the App Store if you don’t already have it), click on Search, and search for “History of the Twentieth Century.” Click on it, and it will open the podcast in your app, where you can download and listen. Or you can subscribe (touch the “gear” icon and then switch “Subscribed” to ON), and your device will automatically download new episodes as they become available.
On your Droid device, it’s just the same as an Apple device, except you have to find and download your own podcast app. Some are free, others cost money. (The ones that cost money are generally easier to use and have more features; you know how that goes.) Once you have a podcast app installed, search for “History of the Twentieth Century” and you can download or subscribe.
